Exercise with the Kids
writes, "Making exercise a priority is a challenge for everyone. And for parents it can be especially difficult to find time to exercise because of the full plates that we often juggle. Here are some tips to help fit in your fitness every day and still have fun with your kids."

Breakfast: A Must For Your Kids
writes, "While adults need to eat breakfast each day to perform their best, kids need it even more. Their growing bodies and developing brains rely heavily on the regular intake of food. If you and your kids regularly skip breakfast in the interest of saving time, calories, or getting a few more minutes of sleep, remember that eating a wholesome, nutritious morning meal will probably save you time in the long run."

Are you at Risk?
writes, "Obesity is on the rise; in 1991 Idahoans were only considered 9% overweight. Ten years later we jumped to 17.1%. We have doubled our risk for Type 2 Diabetes, Heart Disease, and even Death. Globally we have increased our BMI (Body Mass Index) by 300 million people. What does that mean?"

Helmet Head
writes, "Imagine a little girl only 4-years-old at the time, riding her purple bike, with matching purple and pink streamers flowing out the sides of her handlebars. She sails down the driveway and "splat" you could hear the sound of skin hitting the pavement. A wailing scream coming from her mouth as if she broke a bone. You run over to pick her up and her forehead starts to swell immediately. You rush her into the house, assessing the damage and discovering there was no blood, just a large goose egg growing at an enormous rate. Kayla, my daughter, was not wearing a helmet."

Caution: Baby on Board
writes, "There is talk of babies being born at our gym, and of course questions about exercising during pregnancy. Tony and I are also expecting our second baby sometime in February and it has been somewhat of an experiment in reference to my exercise routine."

My Soccer Mom Snack Rant
writes, "We sign our kids up for different sport activities so that they can develop healthy habits around fitness. So why do we think it is okay to teach them that an hour of exercise deserves a sweet, colorful (and devoid of nutrition) treat?"

What is SUP?
writes, "As I sit down and write this blog, I hear the waves crashing and the seagulls squawking. Sunny Santa Cruz California, my home town. There is not a shortage of exercise capabilities here; surfing, paddle boarding, skating, bicycling, swimming, running, walking, outdoor BootCamps and CrossFit alike. One particular water sport that has gained popularity everywhere, including Boise, is paddle boarding or SUP (Stand Up and Paddle). Invented in the 1930s, SUP experienced a renaissance in the 1980s and is now making a comeback. "
