Eagle Police Chief to Blog on Eagle Safety
writes, "We want to welcome our newest contributor, Eagle Chief of Police Lt. Dana Borgquist, who will share with us relevant crime activity in the community, as well as safety and awareness tips. Watch for his first post on Thursday, May 24th."
Lt. Dana Borgquist was appointed to serve as Eagle Police Chief - for a second time - in the summer of 2011. The Chief says he is very happy to be back in Eagle where the law enforcement officers are second to none. He says the teams assigned to Eagle are committed to doing what they can to keep the crime rate low and members of the community safe.

Chief Borgquist was born and raised a small town north of Seattle, Washington. He moved to the Boise area to attend Boise State University. He quickly realized what wonderful communities there were in Ada County it is and knew he wanted to raise his children here.

Chief Borgquist's first experience in law enforcement was as a reserve (or volunteer) deputy with the Ada County Sheriff's Office. It was then he realized his love for police work and his desire for a career in law enforcement. Borgquist was hired as a full-time deputy with the ACSO in October of 1996. He has worked as a detention deputy and transport deputy in the Ada County Jail, a patrol deputy, detective, traffic team sergeant, Eagle Police sergeant and as a patrol lieutenant.

In 2004, Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney appointed Borgquist to serve as Eagle Police Chief. He led the department for 4 years until a promotion in 2008.

In November 2008, Borgquist promoted from Lieutenant to Captain and assigned to run the Ada County Sheriff's Police Services Bureau. After almost two years in that role, Borgquist asked to serve as a Lieutenant again and was assigned to the South County patrol division where he worked until being renamed Eagle Police Chief last year.

Chief Borgquist is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, as well as the Northwestern School of Police Staff and Command. He enjoys spending time with his family and loves the Idaho outdoors.

Contract policing is one of the Chief's passions and Eagle has become a community that he enjoys working and participating in.
