Vehicle Break-ins |
DBorgquist writes, "Boy, we have had a LOT of vehicle break-ins this last month and it is something that could be prevented so easily."

We track many things at the Eagle Police Department and one of those is vehicle burglaries. Did you know that breaking into a car (even if the car door is unlocked and you open the door) is a Felony crime in Idaho? It is, and all of our Felonies are tracked and assigned to one of the two detectives we have working here in Eagle.
What we find in most, if not all cases, are vehicles unlocked in driveways. In plain sight you can see iPods, phones, laptops, cd's, wallets, purses and much much more. Rarely do we have a case that involves a broken window to steal the property but it does happen sometimes.
So what can you all do to protect yourselves? Take your personal belongings inside for the night and lock your vehicle. This simple task would prevent this crime from happening because it is a crime of opportunity and the bad guys know areas that are not prone to locking up their cars.
Please tell your neighbors and your Home Owners Associations about this easy way to prevent vehicle burglary.
We are also happy to announce our new social media sites as well, they can be found at the following:

- Twitter account found at @Eaglepolice
